09/08/2020Last update: after only 3 months the thing is practically unusable and extremely disappointing. Constantly bounces for 10-15 seconds with a cycle of about 2 minutes. If you restart the BT connection a few times, sometimes it plays correctly, but most of the time it doesn't. Cannot recommend this product! Update: After about 2 weeks of use, it is now missing a lot. I have to turn it off and on multiple times until the Bluetooth connection is stable enough to listen to music. Again, I have no idea if this is an issue with all of them or just this one. Last breath before I put in my new stereo with blue teeth. I was hesitant but for $12 I decided to give it a try. I plugged it into the USB port and enabled Bluetooth on my Samsung S8. Lo and behold, there it was. It took 2 attempts to connect but once it did it now connects instantly. The sound quality is good, but sometimes it seems to "jump". My phone is only 60cm away from the device but sometimes it jumps or bounces while playing. I don't know if this is an inherent problem with the device or if there is something wrong with what I have. But I've only used it 3 times so I'll give it some time to get used to it, but it's not a deal breaker. $12 vs $500 for a new marine stereo, I'll give it some wiggle room! occasionally.
