First of all I would like to say that this is an expensive facility and I waited a while to buy it because of the cost. I bought a perforated pad, truss rod and extension and together I think they are a fantastic combination, but this is by far the most expensive perforated pad I have ever owned. No need to mess around with a standard camera. I insert the truss rod and then pull out the perforated board to apply as much pressure as I want. It takes a little practice to find the right pressure. The most important thing is to make sure that the silicone part does not touch the blade, but should be as close to the blade as possible for full support. most of the cut, as far as possible. So far I've only used it for relatively small sawing jobs, but I also bought an extension so I can make larger cuts with it. I use this on my Laguna 18 BX band saw which can cut up to 16 inches. It's not quite as high, but the standard fence doesn't work either, so I think with the support it offers it will be fine. Overall I don't think it's the best price given the cost and materials, but it's the only one of a similar perforated board I've found and there's always a premium on the first one. I don't think the price is good, I'm very happy with it and glad I bought the whole set (hammer drill, truss rod and extension). Update 8/17/20 - I've used this pen multiple times and added photos of sawing through a red oak panel with a live edge nearly 16 inches wide. I used my router sled to level one side and then I used my bandsaw with this board to level the other side. I've used it on smaller pieces and in many different ways. I use a 1.25" resaw king blade on my bandsaw, which also helps. I am very satisfied with the purchase, also with the premium paid for it. was also a great help for these larger saws.
