Review on LEEKEY Resistance Band Set For Pull Up Assistance And Resistance Training - Versatile Stretch Bands For Mobility, Powerlifting, And Physical Therapy At Home by Patrick Hamman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Helped me reach my goal of doing one pull up. (Edited - 2 year update)

2 year update (Original post below): Up to 8 clean pull ups consistently (10 on a really good day) but still use the bands to get more volume. Today, the black band finally snapped. I've been using the black band twice a week for 3 sets of assisted pull ups for the past 9 months (since covid forced me to work out at home). I've been using the red band every other day for stretching. It definitely has less resistance than before, but is still holding up. I got my money's worth out of the black band and it's really not realistic to expect ANY resistance bands to last more than a year or 2 of consistent use IMO, so still happy with my purchase. (end edit)As I approached 40 years old, I decided to start working out for the first time since college and get my weight in check. One of my goals was to do a single pull up which I had not even attempted in almost 20 years. I obviously was no where near being able to do a body weight pull up when I began (@ 200lbs). I got a pull up bar and these bands. Started with the purple band and eventually went to the black. Took me about 3 months to finally get one clean pull up unassisted. Now about a year later, I can do 5 unassisted pull ups and am down to 170 (fixed my diet and exercised consistently). These bands definitely helped me reach my pull up goal as the best way to get better at pull ups is to do pull ups (duh). I also use the red band pretty much daily in my stretching routine to do pull-aparts and rotator cuff / shoulder exercises to help keep my body from falling apart from "getting old syndrome". These are just good to have laying around since they can be used in many different ways especially with the variety of bands in this set. Bought another one for my brother. Hopefully he puts it to good use!

Pros
  • Good for Stretching and Resistance: Our resistance bands work for anyone need stretching out those sore achy muscles after a workout and stiff ones for before the workout. You can use them to stretch out before deadlifts and squats.
Cons
  • May require added weights or equipment to increase resistance
