Review on Leviton T5633 W Charger Resistant Receptacle Electrical by Kenny Davey

Don't buy: outlets and accessories

I bought this to connect my iPad Pro can with usb c, iphone with usb a and two other free sockets. Unfortunately, this product does not offer a reliable solution to any of these problems. First, when using USB ports, unless the plug is very small, only one of the traditional sockets is free, due to USB cables entering the space and partially blocking the bottom socket. The iPhone's 5W power adapter won't even plug in. Second, and more importantly, about 1/3 of the time you're plugging something into the USB or C ports, the device is just charging in a trickle. I have no idea why but it's happening on my iPhone XS, XR, iPad Pro 2017, iPad Pro 2018. I plugged my device in for a few hours with <40% battery only to come back and find the charge was increasing has not changed. This is strange as the battery indicator shows charging. This is very frustrating as initially there is no way to know if your device is charging or not without running an app to measure/monitor the 2 minute charge.

Pros
  • Smart: Built-in smart chip recognizes the charging needs of individual devices to optimize charging (does not provide power. See Leviton T5635)
Cons
  • There are new competitors
