AVOID THIS LIKE THE PEST. Our first lasted about a month and then an IMPRESSIVE failure that threw me into a heap. The company sent me a replacement base and said the 25" base was for larger chairs. This is bent, not broken. I looked at the fragments, I can bend them by hand. Can be renewed metal. There are huge inclusions in the grain. First Review: When my old work chair broke I had it replaced and was very unhappy with my options. So I ended up buying a new base, gas tank and skateboard wheels and it's amazing. As for that particular base, it's a really good molding that's a huge improvement over the base plastic/fiber reinforced plastic. It's durable and easy to assemble if you can remove the old parts from your existing chair (I used a hammer). The new chair is comfortable and I am very satisfied.
