This tool worked great for removing the tie rod ends and lower ball joints without damaging the grease fittings. I only had to replace the ball joint so without destroying the grease fittings on the tie rods it was cheaper and saved a lot of time because I could just reinstall them. The tool is very easy to use, just insert the forked end between the boot and the metal attachment point, then make sure the pivot is square on the threaded end and start tightening the bolt. Tighten until adequate resistance is felt, then tap the attachment point and/or pin with a hammer, then tighten slightly and tap again. If the pin comes loose, the tool will fall out immediately and you will hear a crack. Don't go crazy tightening this tool, give it time and a few clicks. It will do the job it was created for.
