Great docking station with offline functions

This is a great docking station that works well, comes with cables and is self powered to support even the largest spinning desktop drives. My only complaint? It comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, not a USB-C to USB-A cable. SATA drives are becoming a thing of the past, but they still dictate their price with the amount of storage space you get. This docking station makes it easy to clone a drive even without a computer. It also provides a quick and easy way to connect two SATA drives to your computer. I had no problem booting my old hard drives on my desktop or laptop. I haven't run any speed tests, but the speed of the drive itself will most likely be the bottleneck, not this dock. It supports the simultaneous use of two hard drives, which is also very convenient - it greatly simplifies the search for the desired combination of hard drives. The power switch is positive. I can guarantee that no data or anything else will be transferred to the drives before I undock them without disconnecting them from my computer. The LEDs on the front indicate the status of the docking station when it is used standalone. While the circle design looks nice, I don't think it's the most useful as the light sometimes leaks into other areas and requires me to stop and read carefully, but it's better than no status LEDs at all. The power supply is your typical monster in a plug-in end with a small cable. I would have preferred a smaller plug and a built in (or even better in a docking station) AC-DC converter, but it's no different than most electronics. The USB-C cable is great. It feels premium and has metal ends on the ports. It's about 3 feet long, which is long enough to plug into the back of my desktop, yet still reaches a docking station that's within reach so I can actually use it with ease. I wish they had a USB-C to USB-A connector too. . SATA is much more common on older computers with a USB-A port - recognizing and supporting those users will be a plus. Overall, this is a solid docking station that works well even without a computer. Draw me a happy customer.
