Finally the perfect comforter for hot sleepers I was looking for

Let me begin by saying, it was not easy to find this comforter/blanket. I've been searching for a lightweight comforter for almost 2 years to replace my silk one. The reason why it's been so difficult is, most comforters are just way too warm and hot. A lot of these all season comforters being sold in my opinion are extremely misleading. I purchased an all season one last year during the winter based on the over 10K raving reviews about the comforter. I used it on a 62F indoor temperature night and woke up sweating like I was in an oven. It was one of these down alternative microfiber shell ones that everyone's selling now. Not only was it hot and impossible to regulate body temperature, my dry skin rubbing against the microfiber was getting snagged in it. From that purchase I realized that I should never buy anything with a microfiber shell and 3lbs of fill. I live in NY, it gets pretty cold here during the winters and we have very long winters, if it's too hot for me to use on the coldest nights in the winters it's definitely not usable the rest of the year. The worst part about the microfiber one that I bought was, the poly fill. It was the type that they use in inexpensive stuffed animals, bouncy and rigid. You squish it and it just bounces back. It made the comforter look like cardboard draping over a bed. This comforter is not that type of fill.So onto what I love about this comforter. It's the perfect weight and fill for winters. My body runs a little warmer than most. I wouldn't exactly call this an all season as well cuz I found it a little too warm at a room temperature of 73F. This is however perfect for 60's-70's. The shell is natural cotton, it's pretty lightweight and feels durable unlike microfiber. I'm not a fan of fluffy, cloud like comforters, to me they just seem like too much bulk and takes up too much space for no reason. This comforter is the perfect thickness, it's fluffy thin, if that makes any sense. Looks perfect inside my Calvin Klein Duvet cover.Does this comforter hold up in a washing machine? Yes, the first thing I did after taking it out of box was inspect it for flaws and throw it in the washing machine after inspection. A few boxes of fill did shift a tiny bit but rubbing it together with both hands on each side spread it back into place easily. I didn't notice any shrinking or damage so it held up just perfect after washing.Does the comforter make noise? Yes it makes crinkling noises. The comforter is made of Cambric cotton. Cambric is thin and lightweight, it's often used in down comforters because they are one of the most down proof fabrics. I actually don't mind this because it's light and soft. When it's inside a duvet cover the noise is dampened. And as I understand it cambric is less noisy over time with use.How is the quality of the comforter? For the price it's excellent quality. The construction and fabric used feels very high quality and durable. How warm is this comforter? That depends from person to person, but if your body tends to be on the warm side this would be ideal. This is warm enough for me at a room temperature of 62F, inside a duvet cover.

Pros
  • Sewn Thru Box Construction
Cons
  • The blanket may not be as easy to clean as other options
