My path to it was this: 1. Sigma 10-20/4-5.6 at 40d 2. Sigma 12-24/2.4-5.6 on 5d2 3. He :-) Sigma is good for everyone, except for aperture. In terms of sharpness, 12-24 is inferior to Samyang, but wins in terms of distortion - in Sigma it is practically absent. Has some pros 1. Sharpness. Somewhere in one of the reviews I read about him the characteristic "sharp, like diarrhea" :) This is true. 2. Aperture. 3. Weight and dimensions. 4. The price is just fantastic. For that kind of money, it’s not scary to ruin him, if anything . :) Different cons: 1. Distortion. If you shoot in nature and photos, it is not noticeable at all. If you shoot in the city and the video is dirty. 2. Color. If you shoot video on several lenses with one carcass, then you need to either constantly correct the BB, or correct the color difference in post-processing. 3. It does not accept filters, but on such a FR this is a common drawback of many lenses. I don’t consider manual focusing on such a FR a disadvantage, because it’s not 85 / 1.2, where every millimeter counts.
