Review on Frigidaire 316490000 Oven Probe Replacement by Brett Cat

Update: Well, after 4 months the stove started behaving like before the probe was replaced. I'll look into another one as this one hasn't worked for a very long time. First review: This probe was a perfect match for our Frigidaire Kenmore oven. My wife threatened not to use the oven until it was repaired or replaced! We had great temperature fluctuations, as indicated by the thermometer in the oven, and burnt food. The thermometer could show 25 to 50 below the set value. So set your oven to the appropriate setting and after a while the thermometer will be able to read 25 to 50 above the new setting. I tested the probe with a multimeter and it showed within the room temperature range. In any case, I decided to replace the probe, hoping that the problem is not in the control board. Since installing a new probe about a week ago and recalibrating the oven, it has been accurate with batches of cookies baked both back-to-back and on different days. I'm glad I didn't have to buy a huge new oven because the replacement my wife wanted required replacing the electric with LPG!
