Review on 12V/24V DC Solar Water Pump with Solar Cell - Alternative Energy, 70m Max Depth by Chris Kirby

As far as I could find, these and shurflo are the only direct current pumps or there with a three-digit price tag. However, this Chinese-made pump is about a quarter cheaper than its American competition. I've only had it a few days so can't say how long it will last, but so far so good. It pumps at least 1.6 GPM, if not closer to 2, at least with very little buoyancy, maybe 10-20 feet, which is what I pumped. I've even tried hooking it up directly to a low pressure irrigation system and it waters the beds straight from the pump. I run it from two 100w 12v panels connected to 24v. September 9, 2014 - Update: Worked great all summer. . I'm still under the impression of how cool it is. August 4, 2015 - Update: The wire corrosion in the pump continued. I had to keep repeating them every few months. Eventually, one of the fork's pins also rusted and broke. I couldn't fix this, so the pump ended after 16 months of use.
