At first I was impressed with my nest. The more time I spent studying it, the more good opportunities I found. Then the problems started two months later. My home is in the colder climate of northern Michigan. While in Florida I checked the condition of my nest. The nest did not require heat, and the temperature dropped quickly. I called the nest technicians who were polite and helpful. They said my outlet is connected to a heat pump which I don't have. It's just impossible. The nest actually called my air conditioner to cool the house. Luckily, I found a heating contractor who was knowledgeable about the Nest to fix the problem. The socket was connected correctly, but when the wiring was checked via WiFi it showed that it was incorrectly connected to the heat pump. The nest was removed and reinstalled. Now it works correctly. The technician said they had never seen this problem before, but it is noted on their website. I asked for a replacement which was sent quickly. I am now requesting a refund for my very expensive contractor services. It will be a good test of whether they endorse their products. Just take a look.
