Yes, it's very easy to use and set up, but that's where the positives end. However, the scanned negatives (and I've tried over 100 with different settings) weren't very good. I know the experts say the best way to archive my photos is so I decided to scan the negatives first. They weren't sharp and didn't meet my simple needs for archiving my photos from the 80's to early 2000's. Nothing difficult to copy. Instead I tried to scan my photos as well - much better than the negatives but still not as sharp; again grainy and not sharp. So I had an idea and tried to shoot the 4x6 prints with my Sony camera which has a good camera. Guess what? The images turned out really well - much better than on a professional scanner. So I downloaded the really good Google Photoscan app and started taking pictures. I got tired and decided to try another scanner - Plustek Photo Scanner z3000, which I wanted to learn as much as possible about. Hope it gets better; I would order Epson but it was 350 more expensive. As there are too many issues with returns - I'm going to mothball this and close it so other people have different needs than me because I don't understand how digital copies were acceptable. Oh yes... I tried the slide copier. This is better than just negatives - the problem is that the scanner is set up so you only get 50% of the slide area. I had to take 2 scans of the slide and stitch them together. Luckily...I don't have a lot of slides. So, read my review and others and you will be able to judge for yourself.
