I have a compartment in the back of my car console and it has a 12v socket. came out of the socket and lost the connection, so it was absolutely unusable for my needs. Useless article noting the same as me and the review led me to this product that seems to be working great: the plug doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I had to redesign the console bay a bit to accommodate a hefty cable and two outlets, but some of what I had in there was junk that I didn't need to mess with anyway, so looking back it was a welcome opportunity. The price was lower than the other item and it actually appears to have melted down. which is always a plus. Glad I was referred to this product.
