Review on 🎨 Koi Watercolor Kit, Sakura Pocket Set - Pack of 1, 48 Vibrant Colors by Barbara Simmons

No more bag! 36 and 48 color is much larger!

The 36 and 48 color sets fit 5 x 7 cards, not 4 x 6 cards / card top. So keep in mind that you get more colors for a significant increase in height and weight. feels like twice as much, while a 30 color set simply has more colors. I like the thumb ring at the bottom. You will also receive the color numbers printed under the halves of both sets. If you dial 48, you lose the sponge. I love erasing the previous color, but you get a dozen colors - permanent light yellow, Gamboge, permanent blue-violet, permanent blue-red, indanthrene blue, phthalocyanine. Green, Terra Verde Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Vandyke Brown. I don't think this combination of two shades of yellow, four classic earthy/warm colors is bad for a landscape painter. In fact, you get a serious box of colors. Will update once I show a sample of this box but based on the previous 30 colors I have too I love this book/postcard coloring book stamp. Since you'll probably also be carrying a container of water along with a brush, which will allow you to apply 2-5 colors before you run out of water (if you're using the wet-on-wet technique, etc. on real watercolor paper), I'd say 2), you might as well carry around a sponge or two.

Pros
  • Snaps on lid that doubles as paper support (5" x 7" paper size)
Cons
  • Creased

Good paint, but a small amount of each color.
