Review on 🚗 BMW Blower Motor Assembly OEM VALEO for 2006-2011 models by Kaveen Reyes

Works well but latch is broken. This appears to be an issue with the packaging of this fan motor - many, many reviews (on all sites, not just Revain) mention a broken locking tab. It still works without it, because there is a workaround - there is another tongue with a hole for the screw. When the motor is installed and properly aligned, this tab aligns with the support bracket that prevents it from rotating. It works and appears to be a built in backup of the locking tab. This is just another step in the uninstall/install process. I don't understand why the manufacturer (Valeo) didn't develop a package to protect the locking tab. Judging by the comments on this product, many of them return because of this problem. I would if I didn't know about the additional tongue/screw workaround. The engine is otherwise fine and I'm glad to be rid of the annoying squeak that the 11 year old original developed.
