Until 17-40 I used 16-35 2.8L II, but how could I make sure it was not for a cropped matrix (Mark has a crop factor of 1.3), it lathered a lot during the pictures, so I had to part with it. I use it for staged compositions with people (not a portrait) and for landscape motifs. Pros: In tandem with the EOS 1D Mark III draws just the same gorgeous. Really sharp lens. Ideal for cropped cameras. Color rendering is top notch. On a closed hole, when shooting landscapes, it produces decent shots. Be sure to get a polarizer for it! Different cons: A little distortion around the edges, but Photoshop fixes everything, i. E. not critical.
