Review on ๐Ÿช‘ IBUYKE Small Footstool with Padded Seat, Linen Fabric Pouf, Pine Wood Legs - Ideal for Living Room & Bedroom, Linen RF-BD213 by Teresa Brady

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor production and quality control

The footrest is made in China by an unknown manufacturer and distributed/sold on this site under the registered trademark Ibukye, the rightful owner of which has an address in this country. a topless pine box filled with some sort of medium-density foam rubber. (Since the foam is most likely polyurethane, I let the chair air out in a safe place for the EPA-recommended 72 hours to reduce VOC emissions.) It's upholstered in furniture fabric and the lower section is black polyester fabric based. The workmanship of the footrest that I received is disastrous.1. The top piece of fabric is sewn in an amateur fashion, creating numerous waves along one edge (see part A of my attached drawing). 2. The lower black fabric, the edges of which are partly uneven, is only fastened with a few widely spaced staples (panel B), its drooping edges are visible (panels DE).3. Circular marks around the four holes for wood insert nuts for attaching the leg bolts (panel B) show that the chair legs were attached to the frame prior to shipment. The stool appears to be a return that Revain is selling as new, but I can't rule out a factory test of the legs, which have been subjected to too much force. The anti-slip pads declared as part of the running board were not included.4. A more dangerous disadvantage is the _incomplete design_ of the frame box. In one of its corners, the sidewall is completely missing and the shape of the corner is deformed โ€“ this can be seen in picture C, where the horizontal and vertical boundaries of the raw wall are marked with red arrows, and picture DE shows a visual comparison of a normal corner (D ) with a defective (E). Even for those not insignificantly below the chair's breaking point, the box's missing corner poses a potential hazard when used as a seat, as suggested on this Revain page, and a much more dangerous hazard when used as a walking stool is used (on (here apparently opposite mode of action) side), because - with full body weight on one leg - the changed distribution of the structural forces of the structure can lead to tipping or collapsing. Stool. I returned it. I can't rule out the possibility that its horrible design might have been an isolated or rare instance of a manufacturing defect, but the fact that it was put up for sale shows poor quality control. Beware.
