I have a truck and the brake light was damaged by what appeared to be an airgun. I put a patch on first as I said it was about 70 degrees and I live in California so there is no humidity. The lens material seemed to stick to the light lens, but later everything around the edge peeled off. I removed the lens and cut out another new piece, but this time I used rubbing alcohol first. After the surface was dry I applied the plaster. Same problem with peeling edges. I took my heat gun (you could probably use a hair dryer) and started heating the plastic wrap (being careful not to melt it). Then I took a thick piece of hard plastic the size of a finishing brush and started pressing down the edges. The heat helped the plastic mold to bend, and the next morning it was nice and dry with a tiny 1/16 inch gap. I filled the gap with clear indoor/outdoor glue and everything looks great this afternoon. I showed my friend the results and we couldn't see the repair until we got really close (2 or 3 feet).
