Works great for DSLR tethering, with one small caveat.

I bought this product because I'm a professional photographer and I'm tired of the fact that tether tools are the only real option for tethering and then you're at the mercy of USB technology and its 15 foot maximum length limit Booster Adapter. The only problem is that the camera side device needs to be powered by a 5V/3A adapter so you need to have a camera side power supply or do what I did and create my own tether. 25ft ethernet cable and 25ft adapter extension in braided nylon sleeve. Thus, the remote unit on the camera is powered via the cable and you can connect it to your modem station. The only limitation is the voltage drop at the adapter's power strip, since you can run the Ethernet cable up to 150 feet. With the 25 foot extension, the voltage drop is still within acceptable limits and it works great. For longer runs you could probably find a higher voltage adapter as long as the drop is still in the range (4.5-5 volts) at the end. There are voltage calculators on the internet that can give you this information. I've been using it in my studio for about a month now and haven't had any problems. I have two separate cameras that I use (Nikon D7200 and Sony A7II). I can leave both USB connection cables connected to the tripod because there are four USB ports on the other end, and I can switch cases without using another modem. Cable. I just connect the camera to the right cable and start the race. Overall this is a great product, although I wish they could power the remote device via PoE (Power over Ethernet) instead of an adapter. This would make it a much more elegant solution as you only need one cable instead of the Franken cable I created.
