If left on it worked fine. Motion was detected, night vision was decent, image quality was good. Tech support tried to help but then my chat message stopped coming through when they told me what to do and they never came back after I waited 10-15 minutes for a reply. The device turned on, started and worked from 4 hours to 13 minutes and up to 8 minutes. Each time I had to turn the device off and on again to get my pictures back. Every time it turned off you could hear the fan/disk running, turning off, running and shutting down. As soon as I switched the device off and on again, the fan/possibly the hard drive permanently as it should. After going through this process for two days, I turned to technology. As mentioned above it didn't work so I am returning the product.
