Review on πŸ”§ The Ultimate Thexton THE485 Petcock Socket Set: Master the Art of Petcock Removal and Installation! by David Roberts

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Will not fit all drains

Thexton 473 is best suited for a Chevy Cobalt radiator drain, although it will need modification to work properly. Thexton 473 (plastic tool) requires two cuts perpendicular to the existing slot to assemble the cobalt drain. A Thexton steel tool (423) requires two "wings" to be cut off to make the tool resemble a 473, otherwise the inside diameter of the wings will be smaller than the outside diameter of the Cobalt/GM drain plug. Overall: 3 out of 5 stars. While this kit works with standard drains in tight spots, I have to agree with others that using a simple wrench, channel blocking pliers, or other common tools will help loosen them without drama. I bought them for a specific application and they still don't work without some modifications.
