made of plastic for tools and equipment

The larger of the two appears to be a quality tool. However, the smaller one is plastic and of dubious value. The description of the tool didn't mention that a tool was made of lightweight plastic. The buyer is recommended.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Ok but it would be better if both bushings were metal

I was able to use a smaller head to loosen the radiator valve on my car. The only reason I removed the star is that I would have preferred the smaller rosette to be metal like the larger one. The smaller socket is made of plastic.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Weight

The part is plastic but works.

does the job. The smaller piece is some sort of plastic and doesn't want to stay on my ratchet very well. Most of it appears to be metal, but it was too big (long) for my purposes so I didn't use it. I feel a little screwed that a part is plastic, plastic that is already wearing out and I just got it!

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • something different

makes life easier for tools and equipment

I use this daily at work for wing nuts on half battery caps. Easy as pie with a 1/4" bit for my impact wrench, it keeps snapping up. After almost a year of mishandling the impact wrench the square drive is starting to loosen a bit, can I blame the tool? Probably not, but I will soon order a replacement.

Will not fit all drains

Thexton 473 is best suited for a Chevy Cobalt radiator drain, although it will need modification to work properly. Thexton 473 (plastic tool) requires two cuts perpendicular to the existing slot to assemble the cobalt drain. A Thexton steel tool (423) requires two "wings" to be cut off to make the tool resemble a 473, otherwise the inside diameter of the wings will be smaller than the outside diameter of the Cobalt/GM drain plug. Overall: 3 out of 5 stars. While this kit works with standard…

did not work for me: tools and accessories

I bought this set because of the good reviews. This set is made in the USA and comes in two pieces: the larger is metal and the smaller is plastic. The plastic wrench is needed to loosen the radiator faucets in both my cars and the metal connector is too big for my application. Pros: You can use a 1/4" ratchet wrench by inserting it into the square hole on the back of the metal socket (not visible in the photo). This is potentially very useful in tight spaces. Cons: The square hole in the…
