Review on Cosmos Copper Cooling Heatsinks Cooler by Josh Dyer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Radiators are best for the mind

This is a product for the mind, not necessarily something I can test or see how well it works. I recently liquid cooled my GTX 770 with an NZXT G10 mount. and the older NZXT Kraken X40 AIO liquid cooler. The video memory only had thermal pads and wasn't connected to a heatsink by default, but I got them to make sure the card's durability and performance wasn't ruined by excessive heat, especially since I overclocked the card a lot. Installation: This was easy, although I recommend using a razor to peel the adhesive backing off the actual thermal pad on the copper heatsink. Trying to pry it off with your fingertip is a bit crude and you can tug on the thermal pad instead. The heatsinks themselves were almost the perfect size for the VRAM. Once you put it down, the heatsinks won't snap even if you apply pressure, meaning you can easily remove them or adjust them as needed, but it's actually quite easy to install. Bottom line: my monitoring software doesn't measure VRAM temperatures to decipher if those heatsinks are improving. Again this was reasonable at around $7 ++Update++ I recently made some minor modifications to my computer and found that some of these heatsinks were lying in the case as they fell out of VRAM. This is somewhat disappointing and obviously renders them ineffective if not applied. I was able to reapply them and hold them for about 10 seconds and they seem to have reattached. Although I suspect they will fall off again. I downgraded my rating from 5 to 3 stars after this discovery.
