Before I ordered this lamp, I wasn't quite sure about the lighting concept above the monitor. Why choose a lamp above your monitor when a standard table lamp can offer more options? I love how unobtrusive this light is. It gives me the light I need on my desk while freeing up valuable desk space. As for the quality of the light itself, I'm really impressed. The build quality feels really solid, including the stand that holds the light above the monitor. There is a single handle to the right of the lantern. Press once and the light comes on. Twist it and it will dim or brighten the light. Press the button again and it switches to another mode where turning the dial actually changes the color temperature of the light, from a nice warm white to a colder but still comfortable one. It can also be set somewhere in the middle. Press and hold the same button and the light will turn off. I love the ability to adjust the brightness and color temperature of this light source and am really impressed with the build quality.
