Review on Enhanced Eye Comfort: Adjustable Brightness Desktop Monitor for Optimal Eye Care by Josh Wells

Revainrating 4 out of 5

very good light bar but expensive

This is my first light bar; I didn't know it was until a friend mentioned it and how it helps with eyestrain and searching for things on his desk. I basically wanted to free up some space on my desk by replacing the lamp with this item. First impressions were that this device is well constructed - the body is made of metal, and the LED strip looks solid and is made of quality materials. I'm sure you've seen cheap LED strips that you expect to fail after a few months. It definitely weighs a lot more than you would expect; I was of course surprised by his weight. I give credit to the company by providing a helpful 2.5 minute video detailing how to install and use it. Just scan the QR code - it's the only thing in the box besides the light bar and USB cable. Once I found a powered USB port on my desktop, setup was easy. This sits atop my 28-inch monitor — a few inches shorter on each side, but provides adequate and even lighting across the screen and across my desk, which is about 12 inches deep from keyboard to display. I have not provided a picture of my desk as it is currently an awkward mess. It's easy to work with. I have to rest my thumb on the inside edge of the panel so pressing the button doesn't cause it to slide across the top of the monitor. A quick press spins it. on and it's in brightness adjustment mode, turn the knob clockwise for brighter, counterclockwise for darker, a second quick press switches it to heat mode, clockwise for warmer (I think it's closer to 2500K), counterclockwise Clockwise on white (5000 K? ). Pressing it again returns to the brightness adjustment mode. A long press turns it off, which comes with a nice slow shutdown. I really appreciate that the last settings are saved when switching on again. The problem is that it's twice the price of analogue lightbars, some of which come with a remote control. A remote control is available for this model and currently costs $24.99 on their website. I think I'll give up that luxury. I only give 1 star for the relatively high price; Otherwise it would be a solid 5 star product. I would recommend it if you are willing to pay the premium for a solid light bar designed and marketed by a seemingly established American company with a passion for innovative lighting products. But if you're short on pennies and don't care who makes what, where, or how, save yourself an Andrew Jackson or two for a cheaper model.
