A budget version of the Eastwood Fender Roller. Nylon Locknut Inadequate But Works

This tool used to cost $400. Now that Eastwood has started making $89 versions, they've dropped, and this $49 Chinese version is even cheaper. The problem with this version is the lack of a hole at the end of the main adjustment screw. More expensive versions had a drilled hole, slotted nut and cotter pin to secure the end. Current Chinese versions only come with a disposable nylon lock nut and two thick spacers. It will be appreciated that rotation of the bolt rotates the nut and one gasket relative to the other. But under load (that's how you use the tool) the washers pull and eventually loosen the nut. during a catastrophic collapse. With an impact wrench, tightening the lock nut doesn't help, you just can't move the bolt to adjust it. large nut as a lock nut and tighten with an impact wrench. I had to remove the tool from the hub about twice on every wheel I made. Loss of time and possible damage to fingers and car if this happens. You REALLY need to keep an eye on the bottom nut when unscrewing it. Get the best back nut lock design and you're worth your weight in gold. ;)
