Sensor failure within 3 hours

I was initially very happy to install this broadband sensor in my Miata 94 in preparation for the turbo changeover. It connected to the stock wiring harness with just a few solder joints and initially fitted perfectly into the Miata's air vents. The sensor worked great for a couple of hours, but during my second actual drive with the car, it started reading falsely full lean. I stopped and restarted the car. Again, the sensor read correctly for 2 seconds and then completely emaciated again. I've checked all the wires and ground points, but nothing. I then tested the sensor with a brake cleaner test: it failed. How can you sell a $180 product that fails in 3 hours? Further Googling finds many others who have had the same problem - do not purchase this item.
