Apple has stopped using hard disk drives in general. The MacBook will never go back to disk storage, and it's a worthwhile decision. I ran a series of tests on both a Windows 10 laptop and MacBook Air and everything it's supposed to do, it does. (although I didn't test the DVD burning capabilities) It's plug and play and I was glad my MacBook recognized it after I inserted the disc. The design is good, the compartment door is easy to open and close. It loads DVDs quickly and has a sleek design that matches Apple's aluminum cases. I like the short USB cable as it doesn't clutter my workspace. Cons: 1. Not the quietest drive in the world. 2. The woman said that the eject button stopped working after a while. This can be resolved with the MacBook's eject command, or by simply unplugging the device for a second and plugging it back in. It could be just her, or her MacBook Pro, or some other quark, but me, but I want to give a detailed review of this device. However, considering the excellent price. How can you complain. My conclusion: IT WORKS. I've had it for about a month and it works great and I'm happy with my purchase.
