I tried to do a lot of research before purchasing this particular Isobar 10 Outlet Audio/Video Surge Protector. I use it as the primary protection for a high performance computer and its associated modem, router, monitor, etc. The device looks well built and I have no reason to believe that it won't do the job. I don't use security to connect to high speed cables or phones, but would love to do some research on that as well. This device is like you could drop it out of an airplane and it still works just fine. In short, apart from the external build quality (and lack of issues), I don't know if this device works well or not, but other reviews seem very favorable. After more than a few years of blackouts, blackouts, and surges (watch the lights flicker), my computer hardware is still working fine. This is one of the few reviews where I really trust the thoughts of others. I don't feel like benching one of them, taking out the scope and trying to blow up a few MOVs, although it might be fun to do one day. I think this is a great investment in your high quality electronic gear and frankly cheap insurance. A strong electrical shock will destroy sensitive equipment (and not-so-sensitive equipment) faster than a heartbeat. This Tripp Lite Isobar 10 is a great source of line protection.
