Review on Xiaomi Mi Home Security Camera 1080P (MJSXJ02HL) White by Wei-Yin Hou ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not the best quality, but generally not bad.

The idea is good, but, apparently, for China. Tied to the Chinese server, because. all other devices are there. Intermittent connection problems, but not always. China is far. There were problems with receiving traffic notifications. When the Mi Home application is running (and minimized, but not closed), notifications arrive stably. The quality of the picture is still not great, a little soapy. The frame rate is sufficient, the video is not choppy. It is possible to record video instead of a flash drive in a Chinese cloud (for a fee), but you can’t set it up on your own. If you are ready to put up with such shortcomings (like dancing with a tambourine), then the camera will suit you. I was most upset by the problem with the flash drive, because I needed a recording and the ability to view. The rest is fine.

Pros
  • Appearance, compact size, convenient magnetic mount, app notifications, normal video quality, excellent viewing angle. Some kind of moisture protection is even declared (apparently it can be installed on the street under a visor).
Cons
  • Some problems with writing to a flash drive. It works for a while, and then says that the flash drive was not detected. I take it out, do a check on the PC, correct errors, insert it - the same thing during the day. Tried several different flash drives of different sizes, but the result is the same. Often there are problems with connecting to the camera, it is very slow. The mount does not include wall mounting. In some positions of the camera, a wire protruding from it will interfere with setting it to the desired position. There is no power supply in the 2022 kit. Any with a USB port will do. For example, from the phone. At the same time, it is in the Chinese version, but the plug, respectively, is Chinese. Apparently, this is such a peculiar solution for localization. It turned out to be easier to throw out the PSU completely than to put in an adapter. Thank you for leaving the cord.

Has pros: Magnetic mount, picture quality Its cons: It only works if there is a Wi-Fi adapter and a phone and a camera on the same network. Bought for the office, it did not work there; ((
