Well I add them to outlets and light switches where I need extra lighting at night. So far there have been no problems with any of the plates I've replaced. They are not intended for use with 3 or more light switches, but that's where I placed these 2 switch plates. I put her to work. They do their job well enough for me as there is only one position where no power is applied to the switch plates. it's good enough As for motion detection, not sure if standing and blocking the light causing the light to turn on is motion detection or not, but if you cast a shadow on the sensor, that's motion detection or not, but the light is turned on. They seem a bit high for the price, but I like them.
