I use a powerful LED light in my AlienBees strobe lights for video work, but there is a fan that never turns off. In a quiet room, the microphone picks up a loud hum. Looking for ways to combat this noise, I thought it might be worth adding a power switch to turn off the fan since the unit is now powering a 15W LED bulb instead of a 150W bulb . Works great if it's a lower profile case. I liked them because they use a round hole rather than square or rectangular switches. It was easy to use my step nozzle to make the perfect 1/2" hole. I added some threadlock to the threads to keep this ring from loosening over time.
