I bought this spout as a direct replacement for an existing one. I wanted to unscrew the old one and screw the new one onto the existing nipple. Couldn't. I have to cut the existing copper pipe nipple and solder on the adapter that came with it. I can't solder. If you replace the brand and model of the EXACT spout, it will work. If you can solder then it will work. In my case, neither was true, so I sent it back. By the way, congratulations to Revain and its partner UPS! The return/refund process is efficient and simple. Good process!
