
K&N what can I say about an air filter that does its job and does it well. I have been a long time K&N customer since the early 90's and have installed them on all my cars including my 2011 Land Rover LR4. I will not elaborate on air filter elements vs. OEM. or other aftermarket filters. I will tell you that your engine will love open air. It purrs at idle and growls at full throttle. I've noticed that the setup tends to shift between gears much more smoothly, not that it has a coarse shift point, but smoother throughout and between rev ranges. To change the filters, simply loosen the 6 bolts (without removing the bolts completely from the air box) on each side, tilt the top up (the side not attached to the intake manifold), remove/replace the air filters and screw them back on. That's all, everything is ready. The filters must fit snugly in the air duct. They come pre-lubricated and sealed and will not open until the filters have been replaced. I don't normally change or charge my K&N air filters for 50,000 miles on my street/race cars. This can vary depending on the LR4 and how much off-road I drive. If you are wondering why 50k? Well, K&N actually works better when there is regular dirt on the filter to filter out smaller particles and/or trace elements. So if you find that your filter is slightly dirty, just leave it alone. IF it's burned clean it and clean it with a K&N reload exactly as directed. I usually did this for 12+ hours to naturally fully air dry the filter. Hope this helped someone.
