Air leaks, just ridiculous design. The main source is an additional part of the cuff that serves as an interface from the siphon head to the plastic hose handle. This isn't necessary, it seems to be a sizing error when choosing build materials, gravel cleaners usually run the hose directly to the siphon head without a cuff, the hose fits snugly and provides the necessary seal to achieve consistent suction. This plastic collar is not even secured. In addition, the hose and additional mechanics are very close together in size, which also allows for smaller leaks. I cut about 2.5cm from each joint, stretched the tubing around the fittings enough that it also leaks over time and prior to purchase (but it's not stretchy enough to rebound so it stays stretched), and added zip ties to keep the hose snug against the connectors. for now. Sigh For the price of the purchase I'm not sure if it's worth sending back, maybe a recycled hot glue gun or a rearrangement of the Frankenstein parts. I feel cheated. All parts are of high quality, but none seem to really belong together.
