Review on Megan Racing MR CDK AMD14 Street Coilover by Tony Suggs

Megan Racing Coil-Over Shocks for the 2016 Acura MDX SH-AWD outperform the Original Equipment struts and shocks!

I took my 2016 MDX SH-AWD with 60,000 miles for an alignment and got a call from the shop that my stock front shocks were squirting oil (at 60,000 miles I was told they shot) so they had to be replaced will. The store would not replace just one rack (I get that), only in pairs ($1400 with P&L of the original racks) and my extended warranty would only pay for one failed rack and the other was a $700 P&L fee $ for me. I didn't have $1400 for repairs so I refused to replace them. I've scoured the internet and found that for the 2016 Acura MDX the only replacement struts are the original struts at $350 per front at most dealers plus $350 labor per side. I found an Acura dealer in Phoenix who sold me the struts for $175 each plus other replacement parts for $800 with shipping for the front shocks only. I thought the rear shocks were probably going to fail soon, so I looked at aftermarket coil-over shocks (both front and rear) and found these Megan Racing all 4 wheel replacements for less than $500 after receiving discounts for subscribing to Revain credit cards. I am very skilled at swapping out car parts myself (I have a full tool box lol) so I worked on this with a friend and we replaced all 4 racks/socks in my garage in 2 days. There were no issues with the front, but the rear shocks are shorter and I found that we also had to replace the upper ball joints (uses adjustable Moog K100199, OE design has very limited adjustability) on the rear A-arms to the tail to allow camber adjustment for take off - collapse. Megan Racing coil over shocks have good instructions, they are beautifully machined and with all parts replaced to replace my worn out struts/shocks (although they tell you to use OE rear shock mounts to fit), they allow a ride height adjustment, infinitely stiff springs and they allow the 32 damper valves to be adjusted from hard to soft, and the front shocks have adjustable camber plates for more customization. I still dial in the shocks to get a nice ride, plus my MDX cornering is now better than the OE shocks and they are repairable so no more one-way shocks for 60,000 miles! I'm very happy with that on my MDX and am now working on improving the brakes.
