They are most commonly referred to as blending brushes, but I wouldn't recommend them for watercolors as they don't hold much water. smaller than you would normally expect from art brushes; Size 10 (which is usually down on larger brush sizes) was more comparable to size 4 (very small size) on my other brushes. Size 16 (which is also smaller than size 10) is also relatively stiff for a synthetic brush. This is most likely because the bristles are very short. In fact, this is the brush I hate using the most, the others in the set aren't that bad. Yes, the packaging lists these wheel brushes for detail and short strokes, but almost any other good quality wheel brush can do it - and probably will. They also contain more water. But then again, I wouldn't use them in relation to watercolor. At least they are the sexiest brushes I have.
