As other reviews have said there is some distortion in the mirror but it is negligible. With what I have, it's not that bad. (I suspect the level of distortion might be the carrying case.) It's more obvious when it's standing than when it's moving. While driving, I realized that I did not notice any distortion due to the general vibrations of the car and the fact that you do not have to look in the mirrors for a long time. The case fits well and is easy to assemble, but the sealant is not very thick. I removed the foam gasket from the old mirror housing and reused it. I chose not to paint it as it would require stripping and a few cans of two tone paint and I just didn't see that value on a 10 year old car (and I was apprehensive about installing it after I did ) without a mirror for several weeks). If you get a car with a very distorted mirror you may be able to cut the mirror to size at a hardware store and tape 3m onto the bad mirror, but that would be the worst case scenario. 4 stars as it is a great price compared to an OEM part but not perfect. He got a buy recommendation from me. Now that it's on, don't break it.
