Review on πŸ”§ Kreg Straight Edge Guide XL-8 Ft: Versatile Woodworking Essential for Precise Cuts by Shawn Jimenez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

All you need is "close enough "

I think this Kreg ruler is good for cutting as close to that as possible , what you need. I'm not a carpenter, I'm a mechanic in a garage with no table saw. If you need precision, get a table saw. If you don't need an ideal, this is for you. Setup time can be the same as setting up a new table saw, but the plastic levers you use to level your cut are too brittle and the plastic too soft to precisely lock the screws in place. Can you make straight cuts with it? Yes, if you take the time to set up the straight edge sections. Can you get accurate cuts? Maybe, but as I said, plastic handles are the weak point of this device and leave room for maneuver. If you need to rip down an entire sheet of plywood to the exact size of 12" x 96", you're better off using a square to position the straight edge than using your hands. I would say that this device is fair for the average level. Craig definitely got me hooked but I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. - Average guy.
