Very bad design product

Design is very bad. I have been a carpenter in residential construction for many years. I was looking for a good saw for cutting doors and plywood. It takes a long time to assemble. The rails are attached with sliders and set screws. If you need to lengthen the splint, you need to attach an extra splint, which takes a long time. When I first used this item I had to cut and cut a cutting block. It cut very straight but when I had to take the rails apart not all the set screws came out and the…

Pros
  • Cut line indicators help to position cuts correctly
Cons
  • Not bad

Instead, purchase an 8-foot spirit level with two clamps.

I bought this to cut and saw 4x8 sheets of plywood with a circular saw. It does a great job as a guide for the saw. About 12 inches from the edges it tends to rise above the board and this allows the saw guide to go off course under the ruler. never mind So I had to hold the ruler with one hand and manipulate the saw with the other. The cutting line indicators are pretty much useless as they have to be moved sideways for each cut (or saw cut). One of mine doesn't move without the use of a…

All you need is "close enough "

I think this Kreg ruler is good for cutting as close to that as possible , what you need. I'm not a carpenter, I'm a mechanic in a garage with no table saw. If you need precision, get a table saw. If you don't need an ideal, this is for you. Setup time can be the same as setting up a new table saw, but the plastic levers you use to level your cut are too brittle and the plastic too soft to precisely lock the screws in place. Can you make straight cuts with it? Yes, if you take the time to set…

Pros
  • Aluminum guide allows you to cut accurately in a straight line
Cons
  • Hard to tell
