We call this the "deep dish" doughnut bed because it's, well, deep. Reminds me of Chicago-style deep dish pizza. My 30 pound Border Collie likes to be small, and she can curl right up and disappear in this bed. If you're not looking, it's easy to miss her! I can't speak to how well it stands up to chewing or stains, because my dog has never peed on anything except grass, and she doesn't chew at 14. However, from touch and just looking at it, I imagine it wouldn't last long to any sort of chewing, and stains might be tricky to remove unless you have a separate stain cleaner.
