Review on Reese Towpower 73821 Pedestal Mount by Colin Watkins

I bought two of these along with a Reese 73831 Flush Mount Stop Light for $9.99. Although both products are Reese branded and both made in Taiwan, the brake light was inferior and this item is quite solid and well designed. It comes with a standard 1157 bulb. I'm replacing mine with a 13 SMD white LED. There is room for older LED bulbs with fewer than 57 LEDs, but you should wait until they arrive so you can measure the spacing when you buy LEDs. "Crushable" lenses can be removed with the largest screwdriver without damage, but you must be very strong to remove one and a half. To that end, there are slots on either side of both lens mounts, so access isn't an issue. The outlet is strong. My first choice was the aluminum base type with a black powder coat finish and lens screw mount, but it was a lot cheaper and looked ok. You can buy them under different brand names and they'll likely all come from the same production line, but you can't beat the Revain's price.
