Review on 🧽 Scotch-Brite Greener Clean Non-Scratch Scrub Sponges - Pack of 6 Scrubbing Sponges by Erin Wright

Revainrating 2 out of 5

natural ingredients? CHEATED! Contains synthetic!

UPDATE 1/28/19: Downgraded from 4 to 2 stars. Here's why: My original rating was 4 stars because I thought they contained ALL "natural ingredients". After further research I found out that this is greenwashing and the cleaning side actually contains synthetics and is not made entirely of coir. Very disappointed about that. I thought I could compost the whole sponge but I can't. Instead, I bought a different type for the future. I will say the sponge is decent and holds up pretty well. I just wish the packaging was more honest (which is also malleable plastic which is also NOT recyclable). PS: If you throw it in the trash, it won't decompose even if it was ALL natural. People need to understand how landfills work (or rather don't work with organic matter)! After speaking directly to 3M about their CLEANING SPONGE, they said that the SPONGE part is made of cellulose and paper. The SCRUBBER portion is 50% Agave and 50% NYLON/POLYESTER. You can't compost these sponges as is or one that's just a scrubber. If you can separate the scrubber from the sponge (and I've tried and failed), you can compost the sponge part and throw it in the landfill so you never damage the scrubber part.

Pros
  • Safe for pans, countertops, cookware and more!
Cons
  • No reminder
