Review on πŸ“± Enhanced Compatibility: BIGTREETECH TFT35 E3 with Creality 12864LCD Support by Aaron Schultz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice upgrade for Ender 3

I bought the board without a TFT35 E3 but as I have one of these I will comment on both. The star rating only applies to the SKR E3 Turbo. I rate the screen three stars (details below). The SKR E3 Turbo is the fourth 3D printer board I've bought and is my favorite so far (compared to Creality 1.1.5, Creality 2.2.1, SKR Mini E3 V2). . When I bought it, it had the fastest 32-bit processor, uses TMC2209 (Linear Advance) drivers, supports Double Z and Double Extrude, and is a perfect match for the Ender-3 Pro. Can't comment on the stock firmware as I wrote my own. Some features like Double Extrude and TH3D EZABL require firmware setup. If you choose to compile your own firmware, note that Marlin 2.0.7.2 has an EPROM bug for this board and this version is included in the BTT github build example. I'm currently using 2.0.9.2.TFT35 E3 - I got one of these bundled with the SKR Mini E3 V2.0 and was very happy with the color touchscreen. While it does everything it's supposed to, I was glad I didn't pay full price for it when I started using it. I used it in touchscreen mode for the first week, but it just wasn't responsive enough. Now I use it exclusively in "LCD12864 mode" which works like a standard printer screen except you can customize the text colors. The screen itself is firmware upgradable, so a newer/custom build firmware might give better results. Note: The screen in the pictures is stock. Pictures - Installation; final installation; Test print with double extrusion; First layer; Two extruders with one nozzle and EZABL.
