This is a pure tung oil that works great on maple plywood

The picture shows me before and after applying Hope Tung oil to 3/4 inch maple plywood. Firstly, I am very happy with the product. I have to say I was wary of purchasing this product because there are some websites that say Hopes is not 100% tung oil, but after doing some research it absolutely is 100% tung oil (with no added ingredients). I spent about 8 hours. Watch videos and read blogs about the application. Ultimately, this is the method that worked for me. I hope you find it useful.1. I sanded plywood with 120 grit, 220 grit, and then 400 grit. I only used 60 grit in places where I had used putty (wood putty) or bad marks on the saw blade from sloppy cutting.2. In an old mason jar (jelly jar for Americans) mix 50% tung oil and 50% orange oil.3. Apply the mixture with a brush to create a thin, glossy layer over the entire surface. (I tried a microfiber cloth and it caught on loose wood fibers in places, the brush was much lighter. 4. After 5 minutes, went back over areas where it didn't look shiny (oil seeps into pores of skin) 5. Right after that I ran over it again to see where it was drier 6. Then I set the timer for 15 minutes 7. Wipe off all the paint with paper towels I've tried Walmart Paper towels and them were too rough switched to bounty which was great 8. waited 2 hours 9. repeated steps 1-7 (50% tungsten 50% orange) the benefit of repeating this with the 50% mix is, if you get a mossy stain on the first application, you'll get it on the second 10. I then let the pieces dry for 12 hours before applying the 100% tung oil using the same technique - rub, wait, for dry spots check, rub in more, check for dry patches, me Rub in, then wash. The difference here is that I left the paint on for 30 minutes before wiping it off. f. Because I applied it liberally, the oil wouldn't dry out and leave a sticky look, but it gave the work time to fully absorb the thick oil. Now the most interesting. I've run out of tung oil so I have some items I've waited 12 hours to dye and some I've waited 24 hours to dye. Guess no difference.11. Now comes the game of waiting for the product to fully dry/cure. Note: I did not sand with 0000 steel wool between coats. Well polished only at the initial stage, it is not needed at all. Another tip: wash your hands with Dawn dish soap, your hands are easy to clean (much better than hand soap). Also, the brush I used was just a new cheap little $5 2-inch synthetic Wooster brush. Worked great. The angled bristles helped a lot with application (picture). Another tip: make sure you have good lighting or a spotlight so that you can see the shine of the wood when painting. I hope you can see the natural light color. and what tung oil produces and how the color changes slightly depending on the lighting
