You can clearly see in the picture the pillowcase is open in the middle, like a good baby pillow, it works very hard to keep the pillow in its cover when babies throw it around. But it actually opens up the side, like a regular pillowcase. If that's what you want, then that's fine. If you want a better way to secure your toddler pillow, look elsewhere.
