LOVE this faucet! Looks so simple and clean!

We were renovating our laundry room and I wanted to take our old Moen faucet from the kitchen and use it in this sink. Upon disassembling I found that after 12 years the blender was on its last legs. I looked at all of Moen's faucets and to be honest it was overwhelming. I narrowed the list down to 30 and then showed it to my wife and she immediately chose this one. I was on the fence about not having a chef's kitchen and thought it would look out of place. After reading the height measurements I really thought it was too tall. Got it over the weekend and WOW! Looks great. It looks so sleek and modern compared to what we had I can't believe how a light fixture like this can enhance the look of a kitchen. I also bought a modern soap dispenser and since the granite guys were here for the laundry I politely asked if they would drill a hole in the kitchen counter. In my opinion, both complement each other perfectly. Moen S3947SRS Modern Deck Mounted Kitchen Soap and Lotoin Dispenser, Stain Resistant Stainless Steel, Installation is SUPER easy. I have NEVER changed a faucet and it took about 15 minutes. Don't think this is beyond your comprehension because you've never done it before. There are two things I don't like. First, it is the crane's head. It's plastic. It's also such a shame because the whole block and the quality of it is all metal and it amazes me that a $400 device would give a plastic head. The part you pull down and touch almost every time should be metal, like the water regulator on the faucet on the right. To be honest, this is my biggest complaint about a really good kitchen faucet. That brings me to the next. By default this unit is off when the water control arm is in a vertical position as shown in the pictures. Slide it to the right and hold the 12 o'clock position and you have hot water. To adjust the water, you must turn your hand down toward the meter. It seems to me the opposite. By default I should have cold water at the top and then adjust the knob to warm and then to hot. It really bothers me, but it's 100% easy by just swapping the connections at the bottom of the sink. Instead of connecting cold water to a cold water line, connect it to a hot water line and do the same with hot water. Hot becomes cold. In this way, the problem described above is 100% solved. I will note that my wife totally agrees with how it works by default and actually prefers it to be (hot at 12 o'clock and cold when you turn the knob down). Maybe being left-handed, I'm just used to regulating the water a bit differently than her, since she's right-handed. One final note: it really helps if you have a deeper sink. Otherwise you will get water splashes. Even with the deeper sink, the water seems to splash in places where our old faucet didn't. I was about to spend that kind of money on a faucet but honestly the one above was 12 years old in our kitchen and if it lasts that long then it's worth it. We bought the stain resistant s/s version, NOT the chrome one. Sometimes it's difficult to tell what people bought from photos. Hope this helps some :-)
