Review on 📶 KR2 Wireless Router: Optimize Your Mobility by Matt Sirmons

Update 09/25/2010 Since Verizon recently took over Alltel, the connection no longer breaks down after a few hours of inactivity. Still works great. The firmware update fixed the problem with logging into the router. I should also have mentioned that I use an express card and not a USB stick. ---------------- I bought this after buying an evdo card from Alltel. The card was mainly used in my Macbook Pro but I wanted to be able to share the internet with 2 other computers in the house. Since the only form of internet I make a living from is dial-up, I had to give it a try. Using real WiFi from the router works great. The speeds are more reliable than using an evdo card connected directly to my Mac, and two other PCs in the house work fine (one wireless and the other wired). This thing has a lot of features compared to the old Linksys 802.11b router I had. My only problem is that if the internet is idle for several hours, the router won't auto-connect like it should. I usually have to reset it or just take out the evdo card and put it back in. Another small issue is that I can't log into the router with Firefox 3 (but it doesn't matter much). All in all, even though it's expensive, I should have gotten rid of the dial-up!
