You will receive a junction box that is a different model to that shown but has the same characteristics. Anyway, I think it looks better than the original. There are 4 groups of Composite/S-Video and L/R audio inputs and one output. Switching between devices is as easy as pressing a button (especially the loud one) after everything is connected. The front panel jack labeled "Out 2” is a convenient bypass stereo audio jack. You can plug in headphones or a set of speakers and the sound will play through those rather than the main output leads. There's no volume control for that, of course, so simply plugging in headphones without a volume control might not work if your device doesn't have a volume control either. I read in a review that unused inputs are all connected directly to active input ground. If for some reason your video input is routed through a Y-splitter, the video signal will be loaded to ground meaning you will get little to no output. Haven't tried this so can't confirm this for a newer model, but keep that in mind. In any case, I'm not sure why you would need a splitter for a single output junction box.
